The Hawk Who Stayed for Dinner
I heard a ruckus in my backyard a few days ago and turned to see what was causing all that commotion. Perched in a low branch of my tree was a hawk with a smaller bird in its talons. This is the video I captured.
Watch as the hawk waits until the bird is dead and then begins to prepare it for a tasty meal. This is Nature’s circle of life it all its gruesome beauty.
I believe the hawk is a Cooper’s Hawk, but may be a large sharp-shinned. Both are common here in the winter.
