There is a butterfly exhibit going on here currently, and we finally made a visit earlier this week. We had fun chasing the butterflies around the little (and very humid) enclosure, while I tried to capture them with my camera. Yesterday’s macro photo also comes from that little adventures.
There were a number of monarchs at the exhibit, and they were some of the more active of all the species. They particularly liked to perch and dance around the top of one of the trees, and I spent quite a bit of time trying to capture their interaction. These two photos were taken within a second of each other, and show how quickly the monarchs would change their state from passive to active. I wanted to juxtapose the two images together, and this is the result. (Hope you don’t mind a little corniness to go with it!) Even though the second one is “blurry,” I really like the way it captures the motion of the wings of the butterflies. What do you think?
