Not a cloud in the sky…

…but no shortage of balloons!

Well, because of the storm chase and hours of follow-up photo processing, I’ve fallen behind on my Balloon Fiesta photos. So, here’s a little teaser until I can get back to the serious editing.

Believe it or not, this was NOT Mass Ascension. This was Monday morning; Mass Ascension only occurs on the weekends. This was just your typical, “run-of-the-mill” balloon launch. Not much to see here…

Obviously, we weren’t at the balloon park that day. We were a few miles away, but we were still in a great position to watch the balloons that did launch. We pulled over on the side of the road to get a better look. I snapped a few photos, and this is a panorama created from the composite of three of those images. It’s overwhelming to see the Mass Ascension from the park itself where all the balloons are taking off, but it’s another thing to catch the breadth of all those balloons from a distance!
