Festival of Color–Balloon Fiesta
You may have noticed that I have a preference for nature photography. And while the colors of nature are astounding, sometimes we humans can do a great job of creating beauty from color as well. Hot air balloons are one extraordinary example. Since attending my first balloon festival just a few years ago, I think it’s safe to say I’m now an addict.
These photos are from the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, NM, USA. This is definitely the premier event for balloon enthusiasts. If you ever have the chance to attend, you should. There’s nothing like running through the balloons, camera in hand, watching the hard work that goes into the preparations and the glory of a full balloon rising into the new day’s sky. I hope you enjoy the little recreation of my own journey through the balloons.
Some of the photos are standard edits, but a couple of more artistic. Clicking on a thumbnail will open the full image in a new window.
I love our hot air balloon pictures. I have always wanted to witness such event. Thanks for taking me there through your pictures.
Thank you! I’m glad that the photos offered such a journey. Even if you get to see even just one or two balloons take off, it’s a special event. One of these days I hope to actually take a ride in one!
